Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I use outlook for android (Motorola Moto G running Android 5.1) and it worked great until a couple of days ago. Now I get notifications of new emails, but the messages don't show up in my inbox. If I click a notification to try and read the email, it says 'Couldn't open message', and takes me back to my inbox, which shows only old messages.

Please help!

I had the same issue in Oct 2018, nearly two years later. Clearly no one from Microsoft is listening - or if they are listening havent bothered fixing the issue.

Anyway, the problem is that the app is not able to sync new emails when the battery saver option is turned on. Seems very bizarre, but try turning it off, and the emails immediately start syncing.

Not a fix - but at least I am getting emails again!

Note to Microsoft - come on guys, this is a pretty fundamental issue. Apart from some platitudes from Microsoft Agents on this forum, has anyone even looked at solving this problem?

    Regards,

I am having the same issue using my work office 365 account. Our security means I can ONLY access work email using the outlook app. Which ONLY shows notifications, but will not display any emails. Can you see how this makes my job very difficult? Horrible

The update from about a year ago solved this issue. And now it's back on a Note 8, while my spouse's Note 8 and identical settings and apps are just fine.

This is RIDICULOUS. I should NOT be having to fight a program and service like this just to be able to stay on top of my emails. This is for work; missing emails is not an option!

I've done the resets, the reinstalls, the force stops, the clear cache... Is Microsoft really going to force me to use Gmail instead?

Im having this exact same issue. Its taking minutes before the email shows up on the outlook app. Long after the notification arrives. I am using Pixel 2 and the version of the outlook app is most current.
