I have enabled desktop notifications in the New Outlook app. But once I close the app, I don't receive notifications from the app. I have also enabled desktop notifications in the windows settings too. When I open the app, I get notifications of new emails being sent but once I close the app, I don't receive notifications anymore. It is extremely annoying and I have faced this same issue on another device with the same 'New Outlook'. I have faced this for a long time.
I use a Surface Laptop Go with 8GB RAM and
a 10th gen Intel Core i5 with 256 GB storage.
This laptop runs Windows 11 Pro.It was upgarded for Windows 10 Pro recently.

- Check Outlook Settings:
- Ensure that the “Show new mail desktop alert” option is turned on. You can find this by going to File > Options > Mail > Message arrival^1^.
- Windows Notification Settings:
- Make sure notifications are enabled for Outlook in Windows settings. Go to Settings > System > Notifications and ensure that notifications for Outlook are turned on^2^.
- Focus Assist/Do Not Disturb:
- Check if Focus Assist (Windows 10) or Do Not Disturb (Windows 11) is turned off. These settings can block notifications^2^.
- Battery Saver Mode:
- If your device is in Battery Saver Mode, notifications might be disabled. Ensure Battery Saver is turned off in Settings > System > Power & battery^2^.
- Teams Status:
- Outlook App:
