    Hi,
I'm getting this "type @ to insert people and files" when replying of forwading an email in Outlool web.

If I don't take care of clicking twice in the email redaction aera before starting typing,
    this text doesn't disapear and
the order of keys I press on my keyboard, that I haven't yet determined, move the received email that I wanted to forward or reply, to the archive.

Can someone help me stop this annoying achiving action ?

    Thanks

I have the exact same problem. I am using Outlook 365 on the web. The problem occurs whether using Chrome or Firefox. I have cleared the browser cache and history, the problem persists. Prior to this week the message was Type / to insert files and notes. This week the prompt changed to Type @ to insert people and files. Both are very annoying and I would just like it to stop.

I am having the same issue. It is a setting, but How do I turn it off?

I am having the same issue and it is very harmful to productivity. If you don't hit return twice before you start typing, the typing starts various actions, such as archiving emails. I don't know why there aren't more complaints about this -- very annoying.

This is a real problem for those of use afflicted with it. The worst part was that when you try to type in the body of the message it interprets your typing as short cut commands. Depending on what letters you type, this can result in unintended deletion or archiving of other emails in your inbox -- a serious problem. I have discovered that at least this problem can be avoided by turning off shortcuts in your Outlook settings. Settings/General/Accessibility. For me this turned a major annoyance into a moderate annoyance.
