Very slow data transfer - One Drive

Please see my recent post for a possible solution to poor performance with OneDrive.

I tried Google Drive but:

1. Google Drive uploaded at the same speed as OneDrive, the speed my ISP advertises. This is after the fix linked to above.
2. Google Drive has it's own problems. For example it simply stopped uploading my Quicken data file, leaving the little spinning arrows spinning but network activity had stopped. OTHER apps were working fine, both up and down. After restarting Google Drive it said sync complete but the file was NOT visible at the web page.

So I gave up on Google Drive.

I agree OneDrive needs some work. I don't like having to stop/restart it occasionally when it loses track of what it is doing but it is still useful to me even in it's current state. I miss the old OneDrive's "smart files" aka "placeholders" but can live without that capability.

The root issue is that ODFB is nothing more than a Sharepoint library, and SP was not engineered for cloud use. Google and Dropbox developed their solutions for the cloud, Msft is just milking all they can out of the aging server technology SP is built on.  Until they build a completely new cloud based platform, they will be forever bandaiding the current offering and making all of us unfortunate enough to be stuck with SP suffer as a result.

The only other thing I'd add is that a lot of people think of syncing as a migration tool - which it isn't. Only sync what you really need access to offline. Everything else, I'm afraid you'll have to drag and drop.

OneDrive the Terrible is absurdly slow and I have the solution!! Leave OneDrive and use Google Drive or Dropbox. They both work great! OneDrive is the laughing-stock of the Cloud community no matter how much the company invests in Cloud technology. Somehow the company has found a way to make money by offering a sub-par product. It's a sham! You've been hoodwinked!! OneDrive the terrible.

Dear all Microsoft experts that answer to OneDrive issues, 

I am following the OneDrive issues for upload/download speeds for a long period! About OneDrive speed issues YOU DON' T help us with your answers. 

STOP telling us all the time about our PC adjustments, wi-fi or wired connections, servers distance, internet provider limits and much more like weather and sun!!!

One simple test can cover all of us as Microsoft Office365 customers: With all the above adjustments, hardware setup etc (and weather!) right or not, the OneDrive speed is 1/3 to 1/5 Dropbox speed or other cloud providers. 

So, the money we spend for Office365 and OneDrive cloud does not take effect on better algorithms, server upgrade and specialists to solve that issues. OR, a very bad thinking that before our data comes to Microsoft servers, that data record on other third parties servers for checking and control with unknown to us use, causes lower speed to the total procedure! I do not accept that Microsoft does not invest on Onedrive cloud more than other providers and want unhappy customers. 

PLEASE, DO NOT reply to me any technical answer for adjustments or weather!!!

I totally agree, in my case it also has absolutely nothing to do with the service provider, and everything to do with Microsoft Onedrive. I too uploaded files in minutes to Google drive - taking only around 5 minutes; in which exactly the same files took more than 45 minutes to OneDrive. 

Microsoft don't seem to care, and I am slowly switching all my files over to Google Drive, in my mind a much better experience when it comes to storing files online.
