my brother just bought the surface pro 7, and initially the keyboard works, but after closing the type cover, once he returns, the keyboard does not work anymore, the driver cannot even be found. We tried all fixes, nothing except factory reset worked. It happened again today, a day later and we are perplexed. we cannot continue to factory reset every day for this keyboard type cover to work, what can be done??

    Hi,

After over two months of waiting I finally got a replacement for SP7. Actually, it was "repaired" twice in the technical service.

The first time they told me that everything is correct with the base unit but Type Cover is faulty. I was forced to pay the difference in price for a new one... (Everything got ridiculously expensive throughout the last two years).

When I got the SP7 back, after opening the box I noticed a huge crack in the screen! The computer was completely useless. I landed with a new keyboard and a bricked Surface. Then I returned it the second time requiring a replacement. To my total surprise, after some three weeks they really gave me completely new SP7! So far, it works very well with the keyboard.

Does somebody know what SP7 Model 1866 means? My first SP7 did not have this designation. The replaced one has. Did they released something new in these two years?

    Best,

    P

That is probably best idea. I will also return mine SP7 since I got a new daily driver.
