I have an Apple Airport Extreme 802.11ac wireless router at home and am only connecting at a max of speed of 72Mbps (usually closer to 11Mbps if I'm more than 20 feet away from the WAP). I have two other 802.11ac laptops at home (Samsung AB9+ and rMBP) and my two other computers are connecting up at 800Mbps+ and pulling down the same on Internet speed tests; yes, I have real GigE connectivity. Is anyone else having these problems?

I was testing my sp3 WiFi and noticed that the ac wireless ramps up base on need and the 2.4 does not. I transferred a 2gb file and the ac speed ramped up to 833mbps. The same file transferred on 2.4 remained at 6mbps. My conclusion from this is that the power management of the 2.4 is not ramping up based on need. I can not find the power management of the marvel wireless card. Any clues to where they are would be very helpful. I want to test at max power.
I found a workaround for my slow WIFI connection. I have a Linksys E1500 type N router. It is a 2.4 Ghz router (not dual band). I used to consistently get only 3 Mbps download speed, when the router was in Mixed mode (to support B/G/N connections). I changed the router to "Wireless B/G only". Now I am getting 20 Mbps download and 17 Mbps upload. For me that is a workable solution until hopefully MS comes with a firmware update. By the way my other computers were getting 58 Mbps download speed before when my router was in Mixed mode.
To me this looks like a compatibility problem between the Marvell network adapter and the 2.4 Ghz type N Linksys router.
i got this from another thread and has fixed my problem. you should try these steps if you've exhausted all other methods.
Enable Hyper-V to expose advanced power options settings, restart, open power options, click change plan settings, click advanced settings, expand wireless adapter power settings, change to max performance. Disable Hyper-V and restart. Now connects everytime and fixes connection speed display
I am having a similar issue. Fresh out of the box, my Surface Pro 3 was constantly disconnecting and reconnecting with "limited" wifi access. There was a system update that automatically installed about 2 days ago and since then, the disconnecting/reconnecting issues seem to have resolved, but now I can only connect at a max of 13 Mbps. Looking forward to a permanent fix for this from Microsoft.
Just adding information, both my dual band cisco and linksys routers had this issue with the SP3. I get good enough connection speeds now with the rolled back driver but I always eventually get a little yellow "!" and no connection.. I usually just swap between the 2ghz and 5ghz bands to get around this but it is annoying.
When I first set the device up I was at work and used my verizon 4G connection to do some installs and the speed was reasonable, perhaps this is not all wireless connections?
