Hello, believe me, I want nothing but success for the Surface product. However from *my* experience with how Microsoft's customer support has approached this, I can see how the product won't do well if it remains the same. If I just spent $1,400 on a PC, it needs to work at the basic level, and it doesn't. Customer support stated to me that it was not the device but my routers or connection that was the problem because the device supports AC routers.
That is why I had to go out of my way to go to a secondary location to see if that was correct or not. When I called back I also got the same scripted answer and no one at customer support wanted to hear what I had to say or what I have done to test it. I understand that Microsoft is a large company but my point is that if they are trying the public to adopt these new devices they should pay more attention to the customer support side and maybe mirror what other companies like Acer and HP do in cases like this where the product has a possible issue.
I am glad that someone at Microsoft in charge of the product knows about the issue *now* and they are taking steps to resolve it. Unfortunately some people have already moved on to other hardware/OS after trying the SP3 and having problems. I would have kept my SP3 if I would have received an answer that someone is looking into the problem within the first week.
Hopefully Microsoft makes it a point to notify users that a fix is published and it is not a true hardware issue that requires a recall.
