Unfortunately, "Surface Type Cover" doesn't exist in my list. And I have already downloaded and installed drivers and firmware. I have been working on this issue for many months now, and purchased an Acer laptop. About to just give up on the type cover, and console myself to the fact the Surface is now just a tablet. And maybe this is simply "planned obsolescence".
Surface Pro 4 Keyboard not working / type cover keyboard driver missing
Hi.
I have a surface Pro 4 and the type cover keyboard is not working.
The driver has gone missing (just shows HID keyboard device) so I can't do what the other forums have said an uninstall the driver.
I have installed the SP4 driver updates and still not working.
I also did the two-button restart and disabled/enabled the keyboard in UEFI. No joy.
This is really frustrating. Other people have this issue:

I'm on 10.0.18632 Build 18632 MS Windows 10 Pro
Can anyone help with this?

2021-02-22T04:25:05+00:00 Did I hear someone say they did the latest update and their keyboard is now working?!?
An anomaly or are there others who can back this up?
Call me pessimistic but I’ll reserve any optimism until I get home and can see this for myself.
Month by month, in the absence of anything or anyone from Microsoft showing up for their customers over this widespread issue, every drop of faith and confidence I had in the brand has been well and truly eked out.
Not holding my breath.
