Surface Pro 4 Keyboard not working / type cover keyboard driver missing

Hi.

I have a surface Pro 4 and the type cover keyboard is not working. 

The driver has gone missing (just shows HID keyboard device) so I can't do what the other forums have said an uninstall the driver.

I have installed the SP4 driver updates and still not working.

I also did the two-button restart and disabled/enabled the keyboard in UEFI. No joy.

I'm on 10.0.18632 Build 18632 MS Windows 10 Pro

Can anyone help with this?

    I purchased a new cover and still nothing. I've already been waiting on MS for almost 2 months now and in the meantime I'm without the computer I use to work from home. I'm just going to have to buy another one. Lessened learned I won't buy another surface pro.

    Oh...by the way, it's not just the surface pro 4. I've seen posts from people with 7s.

    Hello,

    I also have a Surface Pro 4 and the type cover no longer works for me either. The Typecover works flawlessly on other Surface Pro 4 devices from friends. So I don't think a new type cover will solve the problem. I think only a UEFI update could help. But this requires the good will of Microsoft to want to help loyal customers.

    Before the Surface Pro 4, I had several MACs for many years and was always satisfied.

    I'm also satisfied with the Surface Pro 4, but the lack of support from Microsoft will probably lead me to a MAC again.

    I know. I can't remember when the last reply from microsoft was.

    I can only conclude:

    1. They have no fix
    2. They don't care that they have no fix.

    I am facing the exact same issue, but on Surface Pro 3.

    Same here but on surface pro 4.

    My keyboard works in BIOS so not a hardware issue.

    Tried many of these things and eventually in complete exasperation did a full reset and wiped my device & reinstalled windows from scratch...it did not help!!

    c’mon Microsoft - sort it out yeah?!
