Surface Pro 4 Keyboard not working / type cover keyboard driver missing

Hi.

I have a surface Pro 4 and the type cover keyboard is not working. 

The driver has gone missing (just shows HID keyboard device) so I can't do what the other forums have said an uninstall the driver.

I have installed the SP4 driver updates and still not working.

I also did the two-button restart and disabled/enabled the keyboard in UEFI. No joy.

I'm on 10.0.18632 Build 18632 MS Windows 10 Pro

Can anyone help with this?

    maybe Microsoft finally realized that a fix was needed for these issues?

    Even though we go the surface type to work by loading an brand new image from Microsoft onto a 16 Gb USB and then into the computer, I started having blue screens of death.  I finally narrowed my issue to down to a conflict with real time monitoring from Avast Anti Virus and real time monitoring from Malwarebytes Premium.   I am hoping that dropping Avast and going with Microsoft Defender and Malwarebytes fixes my problem once and for all.

    Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me also. My only hope now is to test it with another type cover or wait fo the newer update. :(

    This is so damn frustrating. If this issue stucks forever, I'd definitely switch to something else also. This device suppose to be my "on the road" PC and now I have to carry a seperate bluetooth keyboard with me for a no good reason.

    I've had the same experience. Nothing I have tried has worked. MS hasn't replied at all. I definitely won't be purchasing another MS device. This is the computer I used to work at home and here I sit unable to do anything

    Having this issue today after KB5001028 update. Spent 5 hours trying to fix it with every solutions I could find on internet. Still not working tho. I'm kicking myself for not creating a restore point before the update. :(
