Hi there ,
Same problem here. Tried everything including buying a new keyboard .
Can someone look into this?

Hi.
I have a surface Pro 4 and the type cover keyboard is not working.
The driver has gone missing (just shows HID keyboard device) so I can't do what the other forums have said an uninstall the driver.
I have installed the SP4 driver updates and still not working.
I also did the two-button restart and disabled/enabled the keyboard in UEFI. No joy.
This is really frustrating. Other people have this issue:

I'm on 10.0.18632 Build 18632 MS Windows 10 Pro
Can anyone help with this?

I, and guess a lot of us, are waiting for the same. I'm working with another keyboard from a desk computer because my typecover is still out of order.
Will we ever get a solution?

Hi
Are you still here? It is a long time since you responded...

Hi
This is exactly my issue - the driver has disappeared.
So far Microsoft have not offered any fix... I was given a long list of things to try (some of which I had already tried but did again)...
Still waiting to hear from Janette after many days now...

Started working again!
I think mine atleast was a hardware issue, I'm currently typing on it withoutthe screen magnet attached, flat on a table.
When I connect the keyboard magnet to the screen, or put the keyboard on an angle, it stops working again.
