I have to say that I've not been noticing this so much lately. Updates seem to have helped, although I have now been having issues with the keyboard and mouse not responding at all.
Surface Book 2 Trackpad and Keyboard Lag
Hi. I have a brand new, i7 256 Surface Book 2 with an annoying problem. The trackpad and keyboard both exhibit huge lag when running on battery power, with anything less than "Better Performance". Even then, it's not perfect unless you go for the 'Best Performance' setting.
When running in battery mode, it's easy to appreciate that more people might be using the trackpad rather than a mouse (for portability) so why this won't function properly on the lower power saving modes, is confusing to say the least. One would expect the keyboard to work cum-what-may.
I've never experienced this issue with my Surface Pros and feel rather disappointed given the cost or the Book 2.
Any fixes please, other than disabling the two-finger pinch to zoom function?

2018-03-14T19:18:08+00:00 I too have the same problem. Much worse when on battery but have to say it's maddening on a machine that cost this much $$. My old Surface Pro 3 was a much more pleasant experience to use and cost a whole lot less.
I hope MS has something coming soon to fix it.

2018-02-28T11:14:30+00:00 Thanks for posting this. I know that this is what Microsoft initially suggests but unfortunately, this is not the answer. The problem has something to do with power settings combined some kind of issue related to display drivers.

2018-02-28T08:57:11+00:00 Follow these steps to work around the scroll lag issue:
- Type in Mouse & Touchpad into the search bar.
- Roll down till you find the Use a two finger pinch to zoom setting.
- Change the feature from On to Off.
The downside to this fix is that, once you make the change, you will need to use the touchscreen to pinch and zoom.
Hopefully, Microsoft will address the trackpad lag issue with an update to the touchpad driver or firmware in the near future.

2018-02-02T16:21:59+00:00 I have been experiencing this lag issue as well on my 15" Surface Book 2 and while researching the other day came across a solution that someone reported fixing the same lag issue on the Surface Pro 4.
The problem seems to be an issue with power management. I don't experience the problem while connected to power or at max battery performance. Running on battery saver also alleviates the lag. The keyboard, pen and trackpad are all responsive now while maximizing battery life and overall performance is in line with the Recommended battery performance level.
