Folders Shared with me are syncing as internet shortcut in OneDrive on Windows PC

Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

If your OneDrive is already synchronized, what happens if you use "Add Account"? I wanted to test it but I can't because there's 200 thousand files still being processed here and I don't want to disturb the app even further. 😬

It doesn't allow you to have more than 1 personal account linked on the same computer.

I also tried making a brand new OneDrive account (with a new email) and confirmed new accounts are the "Search" version.

The version difference - it might just be an idea. I will investigate that. Thanks for sharing the possibility.

[UPDATED AND CORRECTED - sorry, screenshots were transposed in original post]

There is also another difference on my accounts. I am family manager and there are 4 other family members:

* 2 accounts have the version without Search (mine is one of them)

* 3 accounts have the version with Search

However, there is another difference. From: Online OneDrive > Gear icon > Options > Notifications they have ) I note that the first 2 accounts have no Search option (bottom left) but ALSO have no "People make changes to files we're sharing" notification option. Whereas my other 3 family members have Search option and the "People make changes to files we're sharing".

I've also cross-checked sharing between the accounts. It seems that accounts on the same 'version' can share without URLs, but for cross-version sharing the shares turn in to URLs.

Like another poster, I'm now trying to find a way to see if we can shift accounts to a different 'version'.
