Hi. I had some folders shared from different users in my OneDrive account. I had added the folders to my OneDrive with Add Shortcut to OneDrive button from Shared folders in cloud. The account is logged into a windows pc and every files including the folders shared with my were syncing fine until yesterday. Yesterday night the shared folders were completely removed from the Windows pc and folders are replaced with internet shortcut. This is such a big mess. I have tried unlinking the account and linking it back, changing the location of OneDrive on my windows pc and tried to get a new folder shared to my account and adding it to OneDrive. Nothing works so far. OneDrive has a big part in my daily activities. Please help me resolve this.

Here is the statement from the Microsoft OneDrive product group (Redmond USA) about the OneDrive Personal problem:

***This is related to a backend migration we are doing and unfortunately, we don’t fully support syncing shared folders in the case where one user has migrated and the other has not. We’re doing everything possible to accelerate things so that it can be resolved as soon as possible for users of the feature. When the accounts are migrated, there is automated logic that makes them go back to a syncing folder within several days.***I have heard, that shared Folder issue is gone.
The best thing is: WAIT and do nothing

    This forum has had almost 900 replies since June 2024. A reputable national media source that regularly reviews Microsoft products should be made aware of this issue to warn new or renewing 365 customers that the OneDrive product was intentionally changed or is faulty.

    To summarize;

    Over 9 month that an essential feature of the paid subscription doesn't work.

    No time table or any hints on when this will be solved, or even that they are doing something at all.

    No hint, that MS have any clue what is happening. At some users it starts working again, some have it since recently, some obviously switch between working and not working. Total random madness.

    If you stop sharing of a folder, the folder still remains infinitely in all shared accounts under the shared tab. Even if the folder gets deleted. The OneDrive database/file system is totally flawed,

    I probably wrote MS 5 times about that issue. I got two mails with standard not say anything replies, the rest remained unreplied.

    MICROSOFT, THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE KICK IN THE **** OF A 35+ YEARS USER/CUSTOMER SINCE DOS. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?

    'is a hot issue that has occurred recently' - it is not a recent issue. It's been an issue for almost a year. It just got more wide spread middle of last year and now evidently is affecting an astounding number of people. There's nothing recent about this. I have emailed in myself 2 or 3 times to see if there was a timeline for this fix with ZERO answer. Very disappointing for a company so large and boasting about how 'user friendly' the system is. Obviously it is not user friendly for the intended purpose it is used and needed.

    Accessing the file via the link is not even a solution since many users want to save into those folders but the link won't allow them to save into that folder. Therefore, at a minimum, it is very urgent for the team to work on the capability of saving into that folder than to totally solve the issue; that way, we can say you have a temporary solution since we can read the files from the link, and we will be able to save into those folders until the problem is totally fixed? Just my two cents, excuse me if I am fatally wrong.
