Unable to complete the verification check on my payment method

Hello,

I'm trying to start my Office E3 trial but I keep getting this message when going to Start Trial:

Please try again in a few minutes. We are unable to complete the verification check on your payment method at this time.

If the problem doesn't go away, please submit a Service Request.

I tried calling the support but didn't get to speaking to anyone but pre-recordered auto-replies.

I have tried using a different card as my payment method, cleaning cookies, switching browsers and networks -- nothing worked. I can see there have been people with similar issues but unsure how they were solved. Could anyone please suggest an answer?

Thanks!

Kind wishes,

Kira

Can confirm after 4 hours of trying every suggestion on the internet, I (temporarily) switched to Edge and it worked first go. I don't know how something so fundamentally basic could disrupt so many people in the way I've read it has.

Incredibly, a company like Microsoft didn't fix the issue 7 months later. Unbelievable

    Hi Katherine,

Thanks for the answer! Unfortunately, this didn't work: I cleared the cache and tried it in Private mode but still got the same message... Same with the article, just doesn't seem to be fixing it. Is there any other way you know of?

    Thanks!

    Kind wishes,

    Kira

    Dear Kira Kriukova

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I know the scenario you met. For this error message, we recommend you try to clear the browser caches and re-sign in to the Office 365 admin center with the browser's InPrivate mode and then try again.

If you still meet this, please try to change a browser and check the result.

In addition, if you are trying to add a trial subscription to your current subscription, I suggest we can take a look at the steps in following article to see if it helps: Try or buy a Microsoft 365 subscription.

If there is any update, please feel free to let me know. I will continue to help you based on the information you provide. Your undersatanding and co-operation are hgihly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Katherine
