    Hi Sylvia

If there is a free trial of Office 365 on that new PC, your should completely remove that before trying to install Office Home and Student 2019

Use this tool from Microsoft to remove all remnants of any previous Office Installation:

    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Uninst...

    Restart your PC

Did you get a Product Key for your purchase of Office Home and Student?

If so, use this link to install Office Home and Student:

    https://setup.office.com/Home

What do you mean when you say 'bought a copy of Office Home and Student 2019?  If you purchased a Product Key (25 characters) Go to: http://www.office.com/setup  Make sure that you use the email address and password for a Microsoft Account.  Also before you do this uninstall the free trial version of Office 365, which will have been installed on your new computer.
