On my laptop OneDrive (which has been working flawlessly for years) now crashes at random. It won't restart. In fact it seems the exe file has disappeared. I need to unistall it and reinstall it. Had to do this three times in the last three days.
There are no error messages - the icon just disappears.
How do I diagnose and cure this?

This also happened to me. I just had to leave it until a newer version was released and it then installed itself OK. Unfortunately, next reboot - back to corrupted OneDrive again.
I have the same problem and also have Malwarebytes. I added an exception to MWB for the OneDrive folder and executable but still no luck. This needs fixing soon because something I'm paying money for isn't working and I don't care what it is, I just want it sorted.
mine has been working as well for about the last 10 days or so, except that I still get sync error messages for stuff that I don't even want to sync
I've noticed that my exe file date, and some folders in the onedrive folder have changed to 14/7 - and certainly since that date I've had no problems.... is this something M$ have fixed on the sly?

I have not been able to modify windows defender (seems this is a another M$ cock up ... or at least other people are struggling too) - but since I added OneDrive to the MWB exclusions it's not disappeared again... yet. To be honest I do work sometimes without OneDrive launched... then launch it to allow it to synch then kill it again. But I don't want to carry on doing this.... although it is marginally preferable to having to reinstall and allow it to grind through a new synchronisation from scratch....
