Outlook on android - receiving notifications, but emails don't show in inbox.

I use outlook for android (Motorola Moto G running Android 5.1) and it worked great until a couple of days ago. Now I get notifications of new emails, but the messages don't show up in my inbox. If I click a notification to try and read the email, it says 'Couldn't open message', and takes me back to my inbox, which shows only old messages.

Please help!

    Hello All,

    A previous user mentioned that this issue begins when their battery is low. I am seeing the same thing. I have tried removing my account and reinstalling, deleting the app, using the reset function in settings and they only fix things until my account goes into power save mode when the battery is below 15%. My workaround is to keep my phone charged, and if it is necessary, use the reset function in the settings once this issue occurs. 

    I hope this helps.

    Microsoft - This is clearly an issue with the app. Please fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Same issue here. This on a Note4. Microsoft is the only company that uses the public as product Alpha testing

    Same issue (plus one other) here:

    Notification comes then minutes later email shows up.

    Also the search is terribly slow and rarely show result even when I can see what I am searching for!

    I like the Outlook app idea, the look of it, with calendar etc right inside it but come on ... make the mail and search WORK!

    I've given up on the Outlook app for Android.  I've connected all of my accounts to the native "Gmail" Exchange integration.  I even managed to add my Hotmail/Outlook.com as an Exchange account using server "outlook.office365.com" (I don't have an Office 365 subscription).  Now I have all of my email accounts, calendars, contacts, AND WORKING NOTIFICATIONS.  

    Ps.  I miss Windows Phone.

    I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (SAMSUNG-SM-G925A) with the most up to date Android operating system and the latest Outlook app.  I just downloaded and started using this App yesterday and I have this same issue.  I'll receive the notification for a new email in the Android preview pane, but when i open the Outlook app, the email isn't there.  I get a "Couldn't Open Message" error when trying to update my Inbox.

    I see this has been an issue almost for an entire year.  Will this be fixed or has Microsoft stopped caring?
