Outlook Web no notification sound when receiving emails

I AM NOT GETTING THE SOUND NOTIFICATIONS AGAIN :( This is after my pc was updated (microsoft windows). It also is affecting my fingerprint sensor. It does not work anymore. I have to login by typing my PIN :(

HELLO EVERYONE! My email notification sound is BACK. I did not do anything. It just happened today when I logged in. I am using web outlook and chrome browser. I honestly did not make any changes with my settings. So, I guess, Microsoft has already fixed this. Please check yours

I started experiencing this just today. I have been using outlook web for almost two years now and it just happened today. I have turned on all notif as well as in my Google chrome browser, and my pc. All notif has been turned on.

I have also refreshed the settings by turning it off and on, restarted my pc twice today, nothing works.

I have signed in to another outlook account which I also owned for work, and it is doing just fine. Notif sound is working. But in my main email, the email I am using in posting this, is not working at all. Please help. I need the notif sound so I could action all email requests at work on time.

    I get the feeling that "Microsoft" either doesn't monitor this web board or they are choosing to ignore the issue hoping customers will stop complaining about the change they recently decided to make. Obviously MANY of us users rely on that sound notification in our daily computer interactions. I do not believe they are unaware that this is causing major problems for us, I DO believe they don't care.

    I have spent over FOUR hours over the last three days in online chats with SIX techs from Outlook and lastly with one from Windows support. I have amassed a list of Indian first names long enough to start a New Delhi phone book. Final conclusion from the Windows techs? Recent updates to the Outlook web app eliminated the sound notification for ALL customers. So to quote that young gal from the Caddyshack movie - "Tanks fer nuttin'" Microsoft. Way to screw over your customers.

    I'm not sure if it helps anyone here but it appears the MP3 file Microsoft uses may be broken. A Microsoft Agent posted the link to the sound file in another thread here: https://r4.res.office365.com/owa/prem/16.2817.9.2655276/resources/sounds/email_notify.mp3 which, for a while, was giving an error (works as of today 8/22/24). So something probably has to be done on Microsofts end to fix the connection to the two.

    Im having the same issues - tried all the fixes - was working fine until last week. No changes to my system. I have sound on everything else .

    Without notifications I am missing emails . This needs to be looked into and fixed. Please advise.

    I'm having the same issue. It happened to me randomly on Friday and hasn't worked since. I've tried EVERYTHING, but no solution. Reading this forum leads me to believe that it is a issue/bug in Outlook. I hope this gets fixed soon. My work revolves around email and its detrimental that sound notifications aren't working. Please fix this Mircosoft!!
