Hello, I have changed my password with outlook and after I tried to updated with BlackBerry hub services either on my android device or Pixel 8 can't authenticate or connect to server errors persists. Microsoft Azure certificate comes faulty as well and I need a solution for it because it looks like nobody in this office using BlackBerry hub app in pixel 8 and even BlackBerry key2 can't connect to outlook. After uninstall and reinstall does the same "can't connect to server" or "can't authenticate" error not on exchange server, imap or pop. I tried everything and Microsoft seems not to answer questions about it.

Just eliminate to the word Hotmail in your email.

    1. Try to mail yourself by changing the word hotmail.com for outlook.com.
    2. Check your Spam/junk folder
    3. If you find it, mark as not junk and start to use your email with outlook com domain.

That's what I did with my older BlackBerry 10s.

It works perfectly, all your incoming emails will continue but outgoing will be composed or replied as @outlook.com

Let me know how it goes and If it works for you. It fails few times but you keep submitting until it accepts it.

    Good luck

    Yeah, this: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/outlook-and-other-apps-are-unable-to-connect-to-outlook-com-when-using-basic-authentication-f4202ebf-89c6-4a8a-bec3-3d60cf7deaef

Basically, they say use apps with OAuth. Legacy auth methods to Outlook will cease to function. Until BB implements OAuth, login via IMAP (I've described this a couple of posts above).

After many attempts, I managed to get my Hotmail account working in BBHub on my Samsung S22. It occasionally pops up with the "****@hotmail.com needs a new password" error message, but I just ignore this and it goes away. I think emails are occasionally delayed, then several pop in at once. I didn't do anything special to get it working, just persevered with the published process.

The problem started BEFORE I set up 2FA for Hotmail (I set 2FA up in response to the initial problem as one of the suggested fixes. It didn't make a difference).

The odd thing is that it works sporadically as mentioned - usually these things either work, or don't. I can't think of anything that would explain this but I'm cynical regarding Microsoft here - they have absolutely no incentive to fix the problem since it only drives more people into using the Outlook app instead (I installed the Outlook app as a temporary measure while I was trying to get Hub working. Outlook on Android is, by comparison, awful).
