Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
My AOL email originated with AOL and I can't get the password generator to work. I am willing to bet that if you are a paying subscriber to AOL, the app password generator works just fine.

I have been using Outlook 2016 Desktop for Windows for quite awhile to access my AOL - (Verizon.net) emails. Just recently, I can't sync my AOL emails to my Outlook 2016 Desktop app. I can not generate an app password via AOL in order to sync and download my new emails to Outlook. I have contacted AOL several times and they are NO help at all. How can I generate a 3rd Party App password to make my outlook work as before? Any ideas/solutions on how to get around this issue?
P.S. I am using Outlook 2016 Desktop (Windows 11), not Outlook 365 or Outlook.com app.

I was finally able to get aol to generate third party passwords for both of the email accounts I needed.
No, it doesn't have anything to do with multiple accounts. It's all of AOL. Any time you have to generate an app password ... It'**** or Miss. Sometime it works and sometimes it doesn't. And they aren't going to fix it neither. Extremely Frustrating I Know!!!
Yup ... Same old issue. I have noticed that it is hit or miss. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I just kept trying. AOL will not fix the issue.
Congratulations, But I hope you don't have to access the app password generator again. I have noticed that it is hit or miss. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.
