Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
I had to change the password for a client's AOL account (really verizon, but AOL is the host) today - and after I changed the password and went in to create a new app-specific password, it gave me that message "sorry this service is not available." I called AOL and spoke with two different reps, and they both said the same thing. "That's correct, you cannot create an app-specific password right now; we have no idea when it will be fixed or available, and just go to the browser instead." I asked - any idea on when it will be fixed? Nope - they have absolutely no idea - days/weeks/months/never. They don't know.
So... I think we will have to change email hosts. Our account has been through so many iterations and ownerships over the years... GTE, Yahoo, Verizon, AOL. I think AOL has no clue what is going on in the technology. And now I hear there is ANOTHER company who is hosting AOL emails.
