Ads in Inbox

Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.

I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.

How do I correct this?

    I don't think that Microsoft give a stuff about what their users want.

    A significant number of people have taken the time to complain/post about Microsoft forcing unwanted ads onto our Outlook email. Surely, someone from Microsoft monitors this venue. It would seem appropriate and respectful for Microsoft to post an official response to these complaints. Or, they can choose to ignore all these complaints/customers, and we all know what that would imply. Let's hope they choose to do the right thing!

    I agree completely, and I hope someone from Microsoft reads all these comments. I really did not mind the ads stuck on the right side of my Outlook email. Now, that I have AdBlocker there is nothing but a big empty space there. Looks like Microsoft's greed is costing them.

    Worked for me as well. But i hope hotmail realise they have forced people to use adblockers that werent using them in the first place!

    I think MS are trying ways to make money.

    I think the days of free email accounts will be over soon.
