Ads in Inbox

Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.

I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.

How do I correct this?

    So you can't turn useless unnecessary nonsense off but Microsoft thinks the customer will love it. Stupid

    Does anyone from Microsoft ever read this catalogue of complaints about adverts? Perhaps Microsoft would care to answer the question of why these bloody nuisance adverts keep appearing.

    I hear ya! The ads recently started showing up in my inbox. They look like an email but when I click to delete it, the mail opens. Outlook must think they are pretty slick. In fact, I make it a point to NEVER EVER respond to an ad such as this....NEVER!

    Well, it's been over a month now and it doesn't look like they have any intention of stopping it as I still get ads every single, friggin' day!

    I downloaded Fair Adblocker from Google, and it helps. The ads still show up in my inbox, but as soon as I click on my inbox they disappear. It also shows an empty screen where ads used to appear in other places.
