Today ads started showing up at the top of my Outlook.com Inbox. They look like emails but I can't delete or block them. In the past ads did show up on the right had side and I could live with that but I don't want them at the top of my Inbox.
I want important emails at the top of my inbox not ads. And don't tell me that this is because I have a free account. My google email account is free and it puts all ads where they belong under a Promotions tab where I can ignore them.
How do I correct this?

My account started doing this today. In an 8 hour span I received 5 junk ads that are useless to me. Tried going to outlook and android settings with the only solution being to depersonalize ads. I refuse to subscribe to Office 365 and if this continues I will get rid of Outlook. So sick of one of the biggest and wealthiest companies wanting more and more money from their customers.
All has been revealed. I received a pop-up screen today telling me that I can go ad free for a a fixed monthly fee. F.O.

I use Fair Adblocker for Chrome (it is free). When I chose "Block Elements" from the Fair Adblocker dropdown I was then able to click on the ad at the top of my inbox it went away.
And hasn't come back...
Doesn't do any good to delete them! They just show up AGAIN when you open your inbox the next time.
