Using classic Outlook for Windows in business environments
Yep that works. Uninstalled Outlook and installed a third party mail app that actually works. Problem solved.

I have enabled desktop notifications in the New Outlook app. But once I close the app, I don't receive notifications from the app. I have also enabled desktop notifications in the windows settings too. When I open the app, I get notifications of new emails being sent but once I close the app, I don't receive notifications anymore. It is extremely annoying and I have faced this same issue on another device with the same 'New Outlook'. I have faced this for a long time.
I use a Surface Laptop Go with 8GB RAM and
a 10th gen Intel Core i5 with 256 GB storage.
This laptop runs Windows 11 Pro.It was upgarded for Windows 10 Pro recently.

May or may not work, don't know as I have no intention of allowing outlook to open on startup creating even more clutter to slow down any system. I only require any mail app to be open when I want it.
The issue is that Microsoft have forced users to replace a perfectly adequate mail app (Windows Mail) with this rubbish that cannot even transfer contacts correctly let alone give notifications of new mail because 'they' want it.
The simplest option is to uninstall Outlook (new) and install a non-microsoft mail app that is capable of being customised to a users preference, does not show unwanted, unsolicited adverts (unless you pay to stop them - another blatant money scam), there are plenty of far superior mail apps out there.
Outlook doesn't show there.
here could be several reasons why Outlook isn’t notifying you of new emails. Here are some common troubleshooting steps you can try:
If you’ve tried these steps and still aren’t receiving notifications, it might be helpful to restart your device or reinstall the Outlook app.
