I have enabled desktop notifications in the New Outlook app. But once I close the app, I don't receive notifications from the app. I have also enabled desktop notifications in the windows settings too. When I open the app, I get notifications of new emails being sent but once I close the app, I don't receive notifications anymore. It is extremely annoying and I have faced this same issue on another device with the same 'New Outlook'. I have faced this for a long time.
I use a Surface Laptop Go with 8GB RAM and
a 10th gen Intel Core i5 with 256 GB storage.
This laptop runs Windows 11 Pro.It was upgarded for Windows 10 Pro recently.

just run outlook in administartor worked for me and I think the outlook program should be included with Windows startup.
I had a feeling it had to do with the app not being open source. I know that Micro$oft has to know about the reminder issue, on both the web and PC versions because I've seen hundreds of people in so many forums **** about it not working. I can't wrap my head around why they don't fix it. Then again, this is far from the first time they've simply ignored issues before and just moved on. Probably the finest example was how they simply gave up on Vista. Well, kinda. I had both Vista and 7. They were so close to identical twins. So I'm thinking that they did fix all the issues with Vista, made a couple of additions and subtractions and rebranded it as 7, considering how Vista was almost a four letter word. All that being said, as quirky as Vista was, I liked it. It was so colorful with the aeroglass and menu's where you could alter the color of almost anything. Now everything is bland. Then again, most of the cars in the US (at least in Florida) are black, white, or grey. Must be peoples moods. 😏
I would need access to the source code and project files. Since Outlook (new) isn't open source, like many other Microsoft projects, there is no opportunity for outsiders to update the software.
Of course, fixing the code itself is only part of the issue. The other significant parts are testing, quality assurance and finally deployment.

Hi Kevin. I've appointed myself moderator of this post since I don't see any official ones from Microsoft. I've been using Microsoft (Windows and office) and various online app **** for years, since 1998 SE of Windows.
To me, it's just a sad story because you never know what you're getting. Some versions are good, some stink. Take your chance, or make the change. At 70, I'm too old to start fresh with something else. :)
