Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

To me it looks like OfA refers to Outlook for Android.

I like to add that we had no problems with the imap accounts until several weeks.

Also our imap accounts still work well using the Windows 10 mobile Outlook app and Outlook 2016 on our PC's

Exactly. Other email apps work perfectly with the same IMAP settings except OfA. And my old Android Samsung tablet 10.1(2014) on Lollipop the OfA is fine. I will check the OfA version during the day tomorrow.

OfA support asked me to open testconnectivity.microsoft.com

The test resolved the server.  Then, it tested SSL certificate.  The diagnostic reports that SSL v3, TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2 are not enabled.  It further states that, for Office 365 (I guess that means OfA?), the server must support at least TLS 1.0.  I checked with my IMAP email service provider and they advise that their server does.

That said, O for iOS works for me.  I assume that the requirements are the same.

OfA Support replies that there is a problem with my account or the server settings.  Makes no sense, to me.

There is more to it. When in previous versions I was able to add an account, directly after addition, there was an "Advanced settings" option right above were you can "remove this account from this device" and "remove this account for all mobile devices" options. This advanced settings option got to a screen were you could tell what imap folder should used as the send, concepts, removed items unwanted (or spam) system folders. Here you could associate the imap folder with the app's system folder by hand. Once I used the option, it was no longer available. Also the associations got lost in time and again for me it

I have the same experience. The "Advanced settings" option was gone when I got the famous "Updating" message on Outlook start and the whole IMAP account stopped working. I was able to reproduce it all the time. Now I switched to BlueMail as the IMAP support in Outlook for Android is broken and hopeless. It still works fine in the default Mail app for Windows 10.
