Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

    I see progress during the last days/weeks and Microsoft seems to be working on it.

    Nonetheless there is no hint in the official change logs at all.

    Actually I can confirm 143/STLS, 993/TLS and 587/STLS working. Some sources reported bad behaviour with special characters in passwords, which I dont believe, to be honest.

    However I do see some issues when selection STLS or TLS. The default ports are not changed in with either selection. So I believe the app does some weird things with the ports it will finally connect to. Also the certificates might not be accepted by the app's certification chain.

    Unfortunately the app does not allow you finding out if the SMTP or the IMAP configuration is faulty. It just says it cannot connect. Generally I do like apps working out of the box, but the Outlook app seems quite stupid in terms of error handling. Furthermore the app does not support SRV dns entries but looks for autodiscovery2.0 configurations.

    The more bugs Microsoft produces here, the more base Apple wins with their simply-works approaches.

    I just wonder how the Pentagon approved this app with all its bugs, errors and problems.

    I've been battling with issue now for almost 2 years. With previous support, I could speak directly with a level 3 engineer, then they did the unthikable, Scrapped that support system and replaced it with the current one which is non exisitng.

    With the latest app version, I now manage to get two of my email accounts to work (differnt ISPs). One of them worked perfectly years ago whereas the other never worked.

    Here are the settings: hope they can help somebody out there: (If you want secure emails though, unfortunetly nothing works)

    IMAP.domain:143

    Security: None

    SMTP.domain:587

    Security: None

    Other one is as follows

    IMAP4.domain:143

    Security: None

    SMTP.domain:25

    Security: None
