Outlook Android app cannot login IMAP email server.

This suddenly started yesterday 3/4/2020.

I have 3 email accounts on my android Outlook app. Outlook.com, Google, my ISP's. The problem only happens with my ISP (comcast.net, IMAP).

Till yesterday night, I can send/retrieve emails from the same server without an issue with Outlook app.

First I noticed Outlook requested to re-enter email password. But it failed. So I deleted account, then added. Failed. I even removed Outlook app and re-installed it. Failed. Google and Outlook account are just fine.

I didn't change anything from my side. I can access Comcast email from Web/Windows 10 mail and even from the same phone using Samsung standard email app.

What was changed and how to solve it? I can use Samsung standard email app but I like Outlook.

I did contact support regarding imap from within the app.

Lots of screen grabs and explaining sent from me to support.

Without solving the issue, the support person simply ended the chat stating imap works.

That was it for me so far.

Also every time I was asked to clear the data and cache, the ongoing chat is gone aswell.

This is not very productive and most certainly not how I know Microsoft.

As to this day the imap function remains broken.

When I want to add the imap accounts, I now get an error that the credentials are incorrect...(403) , but the credentials are correct and it might have to do with the mail.myserver:993 port mentioning for SSL imap.

But I want to make sure there is a SSL connection for both receiving(port 993) and sending (port 465)

I downloaded version 4.2045.2 this morning, but the  problems with IMAP/SMTP login authentication are still present. I can't find any release notes to check what might be fixed in this release.

The support group said 4.2045.1 should have fixed it.

I just downloaded it 20 minutes ago. We'll see how that goes.

I have had Version 4.2045.1 since mid last week.

Outlook accounts, yahoo, Gmail, and @Live.com accounts can send and receive emails.

Local carrier email accounts IE @mweb.co.za can now be added using the SP smtp port. And it receives emails. Sending emails in my case does not work. Mails hang and eventually moves to the draft folder. I have tried the mweb "non secured" smtp port with the same result.
