Whilst using Windows 10 Pro, I am receiving notifications in the notification centre when I have received a new email in Outlook. However, when I click the email in the notification centre it does not open the email.

Please can you help sort this issue. Followed all other forums etc. and these have not helped solve my issue.

Not sure why Microsoft have not supplied answer in this thread, but copied from another is answer. It works.

I used zx3junglist answer in a different way.  I found a regedit entry for:

    Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.15

But I am using Outlook 2016 (should be OUTLOOK.EXE.16, not 15)

    I renamed Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.15

    to

    Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.16

and popups work.  When I click the popup, I get the email!

    I hope this helps some!

Hi Bill - Could you please let me know how to locate and change the regedit entry in order to do this?  THANK YOOUUUU!!!

Windows Key + R to bring up Open window

    Regedit

(I suggest at this point you go to teh file menu and do an export - just in case!)

Put following into the search bar

    Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppUserModelId\Microsoft.Office.OUTLOOK.EXE.15

Right click and rename to .16

    Exit and restart computer

    Hi Ankita,

    Thank you for your reply.

All of the above is completed and I can confirm the pop up window/notification desktop alert is enabled. The problem is when I click the pop up and/or go to the notification centre and click the new email notification it just dismisses the new email and doesn't open it via Outlook.

The Outlook version is 1905 and is part of the Microsoft 365 ProPlus package.

I hope you can help as the issue remains the same.

    Thanks,

    Lewis MacLennan

Why? Is there no way to open the email from notification?

The mail will not open from the notification center, you need to open MS Outlook to view
