I have found another post on this, but the thread is closed, so I cannot reply.

I need to adjust Junk email settings in Outlook.com as it is pulling way to much into junk.

A week ago, I migrated my who family from hosted exchange to Office 365 Home Premium with my own email domain.  Since then, just about all my families email are being pushed into junk.

The filtering is absolutely not working for me - which is set to "standard".

Can this setting be relaxed or turned off?

Something is badly wrong here!

Many thanks

Steve.

This is totally ridiculous, there HAS to be a way for junk email to be disabled - its the only option for users using an email client rather than accessing outlook.com directly.  If this can't be sorted, its off to Gmail for me.

I've been using outlook.com for years for email, and have never had these issues until recently.  I have an office 365 account (home), but use an external ISP to provide SMTP services as I have my own non-outlook.com domain and associated email address and don't want the daft from address appearing in emails I send from my account.  I can't set up my outlook client to use an outlook.com account directly (no option to over-ride SMTP settings for native outlook.com accounts), so have to configure the account using manual settings.  However these aren't clever enough to recognise I'm using outlook.com and synch my junk settings with the outlook.com service.  This is bonkers - every avenue to revert my email to work as it has for many years until this stupid change by MS are now completely impossible and a massive step backwards.

Now, whenever I receive emails from friends or colleagues, these go to the junk folder, and nothing I do stops this from happening.  I use the outlook client on Windows, as well as email clients on iPhone and Android to access this account and cannot work with the service as it is, as almost every email I receive ends up in the junk folder.  I HAVE to be able to disable this.  If this can't be sorted I'll have no choice but to go elsewhere, as this is simply not workable .  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE JUST ALLOW ME TO TURN OFF JUNK EMAIL FILTERING - THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!!!!!

PLEASE FORWARD THIS EMAIL (AND INDEED THIS ENTIRE DISCUSSION) TO THE OUTLOOK.COM TEAM.  THESE CHANGES HAVE BROKEN A SERVICE THAT HAS BEEN WORKING PERFECTLY FOR MANY YEARS.

Here is an example.  I go into a hardware store and buy some goods.  My receipt come through email... great.  Later I go into the same store and buy more of the same and the receipt goes into junk email, why?

If checking junk email become business as usual, then there is no point in having junk email filters- in fact it has the opposite effect by forcing you to go into the land of junk and browsing them for valid emails. Isn't the point to not know about junk?

I have a second concern here. My wife signs up to promotional emails. She likes to see the offers etc.  So if I sign up to receiving and email, who are MS to decide it's junk and to hide it away?   If I was a reseller, I would consider the legality.

The process of signing up to email and running proper unsubscribe services does not qualify as junk.  So Clinque, Screwfix, Twitter, Selfridges... your emails are junk!

It is unsolicited email that qualifies as junk.

    Some feedback :-)

    Steve

Yes, I've seen the same, there is no consistency.

Funny... I bought something from the Microsoft Store and guess where I found my receipt email from Microsoft :-)   In the Junk folder.

So what's the point of having a Junk folder, if you have to check your Junk folder as often as your Inbox.

So I agree, I want the ability to switch it OFF.

I have the same problem. The junk filter is complete junk, and I do not want to check my junk mailbox every day. It just makes my email management harder.

It is unbelievable that Outlook does not allow its users to remove the junk filtering altogether. If your customers do not want a junk filter, then why do you force them to use one? Who makes such bizarre decisions in your company??
