How to switch back to old "Hotmail" interface layout? (Aug 2016)

I, too, hate the new interface. The previous one was much, much better. -- surely any changes should be improvements and make the service better. That is not the case here.

1 -- Now the print in the Inbox is far too small.

2 -- Worse still, now I cannot view an email in it's full width (as before) in the right side viewing pane.

      Now I can only read an email by scrolling right and left to read EVERY SINGLE LINE  --THIS IS RIDICULOUS !!

      Before, I could click on the arrow to expand the pane to the right (displacing the adverts) so the email could be      seen full width.

      I cannot find any way to do this on the new layout.

I have a Hotmail.co.uk account and the previous interface/layout was excellent --- is there any way it can be changed back from this awful new one?

Agree. The new interface is ****.

1. Hard to even search for email on particular date...
2. The advertisement on the side is so large that add with Left side panel cover >50% of my screen. Need to zoom out in order to see have enough space to see subject etc... but then the words are way to small for my eyes... Not tablet or microsoft surface friendly... ironically surface pro is from microsoft too....

How to change back to the older layout?

Hi there, my account has just changed too. I find it really annoying to use now.

Particularly I used to be able to see the email address of the person who sent the message, which was really useful especially with all the fake emails I used to get pretending to be a friend, I could immediately see the real email address it had come from.

Also I liked that flagged emails went to the top of the list, which was why I flagged them, now I still have to scroll down to find them.

I agree with you. I liked the old pages where it showed how many pages of emails you had by the page numbers at the bottom. Nothing like it used to be. I also have a real problem with the safe list and the sweep rules. I still get people not on my safe list or in my contacts in my inbox and people on my safe list in my junk emails and the "domains" don't work in the sweep rules.

Sorry if you call this an upgrade I'd hate to see a down grade.

I use webmail at work and since this "Upgrade" IE freezes if I try to close or navigate away. Downloads take 60 seconds before it will ask me to save. Used to take a second or two.

As far as my personal hotmail account. The layout where I could have 1 page show at a time was more user-friendly than to show all emails at once as currently happens.

Is there anyway to bring back the option of only a certain number of emails per page?

After going through the procedure of booting down and the other suggestions, the program works fine.  My apologies to Microsoft.  It's a little different.  In this changing world it is easy to jump to assumptions.  It is better to presume that people want things to be good and not the reverse.  I apologize for any false assumptions on my part.
