Cannot login to Outlook due to error "Something went wrong.."

Original title: Outlook LIVE (outlook.com) "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later".

I have a custom domain running Outlook LIVE through outlook.com.  I've had an old passport account which has been with me for a long time but didn't used to have email associated with it.  I recently updated it to have email enabled, but I'm not able to login to outlook live with that account.

How can I get around the "Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later" error, or determine what the problem is?  I waited about a month but I'm still having the same problem.  I would really like to get email onto this account since it's the account I have all of my other things (xbox, phone, win8) pointed to.

Thanks

I have exactly the same problem "Something went wrong.."

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was able to access Outlook.com from any of my three browsers - Edge, Firefox and Chrome. Now I can't access Outlook from any of them, and haven't been able to for the last couple of weeks, despite trying many times (so it can't be a "server down" problem), and despite trying all the suggestions that have been made (https, clearing cache, history, etc).

Something changed a couple of weeks ago, and because the problem exists on all 3 browsers, is obviously not the browsers.

Can Microsoft please sort this out?

It appears that there are a lot of people affected by the problem.

I am unable to access my hotmail via either of my PCs.

Until a week or so ago I could access it from either.  One is a fresh install of Windows 10 and another was upgraded a couple of months ago.

I have tried via internet explorer and firefox.

    I am connecting using "https://www.hotmail.co.uk"

Office 365 service status says that the service is fine.

    This is becoming urgent.

I am having virtually the same problem. I have both a recently created organizational Azure AD account (******@isp.IN.gov), and an older Outlook.com account (******@Outlook.com) that has an alias identical to my Azure account.

When I tried to login to my Outlook account at Outlook.com, I received the following error:

    X-ClientId: 08B2383E094046859E798B1521F6E042

    X-OWA-Error: Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.DatabaseNotFoundException

    X-OWA-Version: 15.1.517.8

    X-FEServer: BY2PR0601CA0024

    X-BEServer: BY2PR09MB0248

    Date: 6/12/2016 3:01:47 AM

It does not matter which ID I use at Outlook.com, I get the same error.

Can you help me, or direct me to someone who can?

To cut through some of the basic diagnostics, please be advised I have tried the following:

    1. I cannot access Outlook.com at all.  Every login attempt results in the error, and I NEVER reach my Inbox.
    2. I have followed the password reset process, and have changed my password. There are no errors when I enter my password.
    3. I have verified that if I intentionally enter an incorrect password, I get a proper password reject.
    4. After receiving the error, I cannot even get to a login screen - any attempt to go to Outlook.com immediately displays the error above.
    5. If I close the browser and clear ALL temporary internet files, I can get a login prompt.  However, the error immediately reappears when I attempt to logon.

    Please help!

    Hi,

To get a better clarity about the issue, please provide the details below:

    1. How do you access your account? Is it through browser, email client or mail app?
    2. Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
    3. When you log into your account does it say Outlook.com or Outlook Email/Mail at the top left corner?

Meanwhile, I suggest you to access your account through different browser and check if the issue persists.

Please post back with the updated status regarding issue with accessing account, we will be happy to assist you further.

    Thank you.
