Is there any way to disable junk-mail/spam filtering completely in Outlook.com? I'd prefer my Windows client to handle this locally, thus everything I receive to my @outlook.com address should be going into Inbox.

On top... I just noticed that this thread has been carrying on for 5 years already.

The more proof that MS doesn't really care what we think/want.

I don't want to use IMAP - it forces me to store the .ost file on C:

With the good old .pst files they can be stored within an encrypted drive.

BTW Gmail as a major drawback, at least it had some years ago, reason why I switched to Outlook.

Once mails have been viewed on your smartphone/tablet during your holidays or something, the mail apparently is marked as 'read', or so, and you won't be able to get them in Outlook anymore. Period.

The only way to get them into Outlook is to send the mail to your own email address.

Outlook does not have this issue.

GMail did not solve this* and has a bit of a same attitude as MS with this 'junk-mail' thing. They don't care.

(* maybe they solved it over the last couple of years, I don't know)

I finally gave up about a week ago. I've switched to yandex mail. The web interface has no adverts, it's let me set up folders exactly as i have them in Hotmail, when i say something isn't spam it remembers and the mobile app informs me when i have new mail and on what folder, instead of just the inbox.

So far I'm very happy with the switch.
