Is there any way to disable junk-mail/spam filtering completely in Outlook.com? I'd prefer my Windows client to handle this locally, thus everything I receive to my @outlook.com address should be going into Inbox.

Fortunately, however, this is a one-time, isolated instance.

Oh, wait - Windows8's UI; Vista; Windows ME; Microsoft Bob; ...

    Never mind.

More than thirty years in IT here, Coelacanth97, and I don't recall seeing anything as bad as this. I maintain 15 email addresses on 5 servers, all through Thunderbird. My MS live account is the only one that ever makes me resort to using the web interface because of its inconsistent and draconian spam filter.

    Hi,

    My workaround - perfectly working...

Filter if attachment is present --> move to Inbox

Filter if attachment is not present --> move to Inbox

Now everything perfectly sits in the inbox.

Hope I helped at least a bit ;)

Firstly, this is the ONLY thing that worked. I've worked in I.T. 18 years and never encountered something so retarded. Reading through the first 5 pages of this thread, with repeated comments saying to add all sender addresses containing "@" was infuriating, because at least on my parents' computer (with Win XP, if that's relevant)--regardless whether logging into Live.com, Hotmail.com or Outlook.com--DID NOT EXIST, and you COULD NOT ADD @. It refused this rule, as others have reported.

The other suggestion to add all your known senders to your Safe Senders list is equally retarded, because everyone else who hasn't emailed you previously will have their mail go to your Junk folder--WHERE IT GETS AUTO-DELETED AFTER 10 DAYS. This is extremely shoddy and thoughtless programming, Microsoft. My parents were having all their mail, which SHOULD have been in the Inbox but was in Junk instead, completely get DELETED periodically! Jesus H. on a popsicle stick...

It's totally laughable that the ONLY suggestion that worked is JanD12's workaround, quoted above.

As to "Why not use GMail" or some other option, that's also a retarded suggestion. I myself have been using Hotmail for decades, as have my parents. Why should people abruptly abandon Hotmail just because Microsoft royally effed up people's emails by incorporating a thoughtlessly-programmed "feature", abandoning what they know and are familiar with, be forced to let everyone know a new email address, and have to now monitor 2 POP mail servers during the interim switch? Ludicrous.

    UFB, as someone else stated!
