team mysterious ringing

the last week or so I get a random (i don't see a reason/activity for it when it happens) ringing in my headset...like a phone call ringtone, but there is no activity  on Teams.  No one is calling me or messaging me, there is not an upcoming meeting scheduled.

My IT support team thought it was something wrong/setting on my Jabra Evolve headset,   but I tried turning off a ringtone setting in the headset's settings, but yet, I still get this same mystery ringing still

any ideas what could be causing this ?

I've been having this issue for the past few weeks now. The post seem to indicate it is something to do with Bluetooth devices disconnecting but my PC does not have Bluetooth.

I don’t have a fix but I do have a temporary solution. At least it stops ringing when I am on a call.

I recently bought another Bose 700UC for work and now the problem followed me there.

Solution 1–in Windows 11, sometimes, you can click the speaker icon in the system tray. A separate “media control” panel is above, showing it is playing media. There is a pause button. Press it to stop playing. Unfortunately that panel doesn’t always show.

When it doesn’t show, press [WIN] G. This brings up the xbox game bar. It has an audio panel with a mixer. It shows all of the devices that are playing music. There are several Teams bars, but one will be the ringer. Mute it and take your call.

    This is absolutely ludicrous.

    Hi David Predenkoski

    The way I solved this:

    1. go to your windows 10/11 settings settings.
    2. Click on system if not already there
    3. Click on sound and scroll to the bottom
    4. Click on "more sound settings" The Window "Sound" opens (continues below picture) Image
    5. Click on communications
    6. Select "Mute all other sounds"
    7. Click "OK" and you should be good.

    Good luck

I had the same problem and fixed it. Go into the task manager and see if there is any Skype Or Skype for business processes running. Right click on them and kill the process and then log out of the meeting and log back in to see if the ringing persists. That solved the problem for me.

    I had/have this issue too.

On my headphones, it's related to accidentally clicking on play (Galaxy buds with touch control, kind of finnicky). For some reason, it plays the Microsoft Teams Calling sound as an audio file(having played that last when you got a call) and just keeps looping that. Solution: press pause/stop to stop the audioclip from playing.
