Black screen camera on Microsoft Teams desktop app

Today I had a meeting where I needed my camera turned on but it wasn't working. I checked the preview of the camera and it shows only black screen.

I've tried anything I could to resolve the problem ( check for privacy settings, update camera drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the camera device , uninstalled and reinstalled teams, reboot the laptop multiple times ). The camera works on any other app except MT desktop app. It also doesn't let me do the screen share thing.

Any help? I really need it solved so I can be able to take my exams.

    Dear Simon,

    When you say nuke the profile - what do you mean?

    Do I run the risk of losing my classroom teams of which I am owner please?

    Thanks - my issue is exactly as described - the hassle is only with the desktop app with both my work account and my school account. On the web app and on the mobile app it works fine.

    Sorry for the late reply Sven, I just realised I had a rule in my Outlook client that moved your message to a subfolder in my inbox.

    I never found a solution for this and had no choice but to nuke the user profile.....so no luck.

    On a positive note, I never encountered the problem ever since.
