Black screen camera on Microsoft Teams desktop app

Today I had a meeting where I needed my camera turned on but it wasn't working. I checked the preview of the camera and it shows only black screen.

I've tried anything I could to resolve the problem ( check for privacy settings, update camera drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the camera device , uninstalled and reinstalled teams, reboot the laptop multiple times ). The camera works on any other app except MT desktop app. It also doesn't let me do the screen share thing.

Any help? I really need it solved so I can be able to take my exams.

    Hey there,

    2021 and me and my team are still struggling with this problem. Camera in DesktopApp is black. Audio is working fine. I followed your steps, reinstalled MS-Teams several times on different users. Watched out for updates. CamDriver should not be a problem, since it´s working in all other applications (WebApp working fine). 

    My System: MacBookPro2018 running Windows10Pro via Boot Camp

    Due to homoffice-situation me and my team really would like to see each other again. WebApp is not a solution.

    Any news on that topic? :-/

    I tried the latest drivers for the webcam from the HP site (HP universal webcam driver) and it immediately worked - so at least that fix was easy for me.  They were ProBook G4's and the driver date in device manager they were using while not working was 2017 vs the latest one from 2020 that worked

    I've now got this problem on some work laptops and of course they want their camera for meetings.  It shows up fine in a camera test website so it's just Teams.

    May relate to recent win10 updates going out?

    Yet to try un/reinstalling in device manager

    Pretty sure I checked camera permissions were allowed in win10 settings eg

    Unsure if it relates to chrome (since it worked in chrome I think while still black in teams) eg

    I'm also on a MacBook Pro with the built-in FaceTime HD camera.

    Black screen for me since a week and a half or so, think it might be related with OS.

    Camera works in every other app and Camera settings.
