I recently got a Dell Inspiron with Windows 11 preloaded. The fingerprint reader was working fine at first, but now it appears to not be working with windows hello. The option to add a finger or remove the fingerprint are greyed out and not clickable.
I've seen posts about this issue in Windows 10, but the fixes aren't working for me.

Thank you! It worked!
Brillant!! It worked.
Thanks
I agree with you. I had hoped someone had a solution, but like issues with Outlook mail, I see comments that these are known issues, but there are only work a rounds, or like finger readers they can be only fixed to work a few days and then break again.
I have a ASUS Rog 14 gaming laptop with Goodx finger reader. I set it up and over and over again it crashes and I have to reset it up again. This is on a $1,600USD plus laptop.
I am very disappointed
I have tried every single solution on the Internet and YouTube....and have come to the conclusion that the driver for the Synaptics fingerprint scanner...installed on my on my Lenovo Yoga Ideapad...ISN'T compatible with the Windows 11 update. Somebody needs to fix this! I didn't pay extra money...to have a fingerprint reader...only to have it become obsolete...because I upgated to Windows 11
