Can not get my BitLocker recovery key

When going to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey to get the BitLocker recovery keys of my device, I get an error saying:

"Sorry, something went wrong.

We're not sure what happened but refreshing the page may help, or try again in a little while.

TraceId: lBgh0JGs40W+tj6N.30.98"

Same thing when I would go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and then click on "info & support" on my device that I need to recover after blue screening and then "Manage recovery keys", which basically takes me to the link mentioned at the top of this post.

This is very frustrating as I can't start working with my brand new laptop that just crashed on me from day 1.

Any reply from people trying if that link works for them is appreciated.

Thank you for the tip, I managed to get my keys back with this "trick":

Here is what I did exactly:

    • Log in with the account I want to use, try to go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey . Get the error message.
    • Click my avatar on the top right, select "Sign in with different account", then click create new one and follow the instructions to create a new account.
    • With the new account go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey  again to see that there are no Bitlocker keys.
    • Clicking the avatar again switch to the old account (if the other account doesn't show up, click Sign in with different account again and type in the email of the old account).
    • After successfully switching back to the old account, my BitLocker recovery keys have shown up.

I have a personal account it might be different for enterprise users.

Hopefully it works for others, so they can get into their systems while MS is fixing this.

I logged into two other Microsoft Accounts without the Bitlocker key and then switched back to the Microsoft Account that was previously showing the same error as the OP, and then the error disappeared and the keys appeared.

But when I tried the above again, the same error occurred, fortunately, I took a screen shot in time.

Logging into another account and then logging back in also worked for me.

Ditto. Super-annoying when you update your BIOS and forget to suspend bitlocker... I know better but I forgot.

It worked! Although it shouldn't have, for some reason it worked.
