Windows 11 two accounts sign in issue

I am using Windows 11 Home.

Whenever I start/restart my computer there are two login shown, both with the same name. I believe one is a local account (generic icon), the other has my icon I assigned to my Microsoft account. I have recently changed my email address and updated the address on my Microsoft account.

Every time I start/restart the computer it defaults to the generic icon with my old email as the user name and asks for a password. I have tried entering my password and it says that the user name or password is incorrect. I also tried correcting the email to my new email, enter my Microsoft password but it still says that is incorrect. I then have to click the login with my assigned icon and enter my PIN.

Today I checked my Microsoft account and removed the old email from recovery but the problem continues.

Is there a way to remove this generic account? Or have it be the same as my Microsoft account? I just want to type in my PIN.

    I have the same problem, please help! No other account to delete, when restarting I get a sorry can not log you in, try again later, and then it loads 2 identical log in names at the bottom left. 1 with a pin, and another above that asks for user name, {which I guess is the problem one.}

    I'm lost here, please assist.

    Hello! I noticed the same thing with not having any other users where I had 2 prior to the update. I ended up logging out of my MS account and signing back in. Plus, with the update, switching from one account to the other changed. I clicked on the Windows icon, then my name, the elipses and logout or switch account. I'm good now and it no longer an issue. It was just a short little blip. Thanks!

    I have to reset my pc , it was frustrating to deal with it. Tried the system restore first, but then it got corrupted. What a random issue
