Win 11 ver. 24H2 causing Brother scanning driver install to fail. How to fix?

Hi All,

I have a Brother DCP-7065DN multi-function machine, connected to my Windows 11 desktop computer. I was having some problems with a label printer and pursuant to that I disinstalled the Brother software and re-installed it. Since the re-install, the Brother printer driver installed but the scanner driver installation failed. I've tried multiple times.

Brother has noted this as a problem with Windows 11 Version 24H2. (See attached link.)

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

    yeah - I agree with the theory. but I've got that done (was the 1st thing I checked this morning).

    still no dice.

    and of course, my brother devices can't scan the MS Sharepoint 365 - only on-prem sharepoint.

    this isn't life and death.

    In my MFC-L2760DW, this updates solved scan from PC to scanner as well as from scanner to PC. You need to define and register your PC with the " Scan to" function at properties/Scanners and Cameras/Scanner settings under printer settings.

    Yes JDD_680 - I used the chat support and let him control my computer. He was going so quickly though that I don't know exactly what his steps were which is why I asked and posted his reply. However, I had noted that the IP address on my scanner was different than the one on my computer but I didn't know how to fix that. After he updated that IP address, that seemed to fix the issue. Ironically though, Microsoft released a fix soon after I posted, but I'm afraid to update now that my scanner is finally working lol

    just my 2 cents - this 2025-04 update does NOT solve the scan from the device to the PC issue that was introduced with 24H2.

    my ADS-1800W is in the same place it was. I CAN initiate scans (PULL) from the computer, but I cannot PUSH from the device to a computer. the only one that works is the windows 11 machine I have that is still running 23H2

    System File Checker and the DISM command tool, start with CheckHealth switch. If not familiar with these commands, instructions available from many sites.

    Deleting temp files may help as well.
