Microsoft Refund Dept.

the same group has been calling me saying Microsoft saying I need to send them money 1 855 900-5660 they have made multiple attempts to scam people. just google the number

I've had several calls in the last few days; I understand that this has been going on for years, so I presume MS doesn't really care or they would be pressing the case with appropriate authorities.

Now I just disconnect without any further interaction.

Shame on Microsoft ...

I also got a computer-generated message when I answered the phone (landline) and it gave me a phone number to call. I called it and they wanted me to go to my computer and connect with them remotely (on my cell) because they said I paid for computer support and they had been ordered by the US government to refund our money. He wanted me to go to my desktop computer with a cell phone and call them so they can access my computer with a BBB Microsoft Refund form and they will help me fill it out to get a refund. Something was fishy about this and I told them there was no way I was going to connect them to my computer. I had him call my son's number and he told the guy that I was not going to let them access my computer. Now that I've read that others have had the same experience, I knew I was dealing with a scammer who wanted to steal my personal info off my computer. My son always urges me to do research on these things first and by doing this we found that it was a scam.

In 2014 my [now] 82 year old mother was scammed out of more than $800 and someone halfway across the country tried to use her credit card 2 days later when these guys were masquerading as Microsoft Support. So of course this year they called again saying they were being forced to close and issue refunds and she immediately became excited that she might get her money back. Fortunately this time she called me to ask about it BEFORE she talked to them. I assured her it's not actually Microsoft, there is no refund and that it's just another scam to steal more of her money.

The weirdest part of it is that I tried to call them back from my cellphone at both numbers they'd left in the messages - I was hoping to deter them from wanting to call her anymore - but it just rings once and then immediately hangs up but when I called them from her phone they answered right away. It seems like they only have the phone numbers which they are actively trying to scam whitelisted so nobody else can contact them! These guys are definitely good at getting away with what they're doing.

I'd really like to how to get them to stop calling my mom. She's had the same landline number for over 30 years, so I really don't want to suggest she change her number, but these constant calls are giving her serious anxiety!

I just received a call from her as well. the number was 1888 396 6735. once she gets on the line states not to hang up.

This happens at least once a month.
