KB2862330 fails to install

In any event, the OP in this thread posted about KB2862330 failing to install, not "blowing up" his computer. This is what happens when others "hijack" someone else's thread.

That being said, your annual MVP benefits include three (3) no-charge support incidents. Have you opened a case about your problem yet?

Susan, last one yesterday: Intel Atom mainboard/CPU (MiniITX web crawler), Windows  7 Home Premium x86 oem. Installed all updates (hadn't been turned on in a few months) except KB2862330.

Don't have one currently that has not been manually updated.

The count? In this small semi-retired business approx 10 - 12 (wasn't offered).

Windows 7 Pro x64 oem

Windows 7 Home Premium x64 oem

Windows 7 Home Premium x86 oem - no OS pattern - likes all.

I do not have any 'Ultimates', branding is everything from custom builds to HP, to Toshiba.

I have a client with a HP TouchSmart, but won't see that until the first of the week. I'll check and inform if KB2862330 is not installed nor offered.

Witness that none of these had a problem that said "KB2862330" - after the first problems that I encountered (update hung on one, wasn't offered on two others), I've been looking for this. The only time I do check for this is during normal maintenance or another problem.

On one client computer, one of the ransomware security software packages ($299) was installed along with the ZeroAccess rootkit, but that was completely repaired the end of Jan. - most of what I look at are free of the "baddies".

I just got off the phone with MS Tech support and will summarise what they told me.....

 4.       Their advice, don’t worry about it and wait for MS to come up with a fix.

          

That is so irresponsible of Microsoft! After all the problems people have had with this update, the countless hours wasted and aggravation, that is their response? Unbelievable! If I was responsible for developing such a patch in my job that caused all these problems, I would have been fired in a New York minute.

Microsoft needs to compensate everyone who has had problems with this update. They need to be held accountable and suffer the consequences for their actions. No excuses.

Something is not right with your reply.  If KB2862330 is not currently offered by Windows Update then how and why did if blow up my PC on 7 November (a full month after it was released) during a Automatic Windows update?
