    That file doesn't make you different - it just checks to see if there is disk corruption.  It's not an update - it's a tool to check if your files are in order.

    Hi Susan

    I've emailed over the files as requested.

    I’m afraid I don’t want to run the tool that you asked for, because I don’t want to do anything that makes me ‘different’ to everyone else.  I lost half a day to this last week, and I have a project due.  It looks safest to me to stay with the herd – if I go installing things that other people don’t, then I will be ‘more’ unique.  Nobody wants to be unique in a situation like this!

    I have hidden the update, and I can’t afford to lose any more time – I’ve done my bit by helping out, and I hope that MS is able to learn from it.

    Best wishes, and I don’t know what Microsoft would do without people like you…

    Can you also run this - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20858 if you have Windows 7 64bit

    (if you have Win7 32bit of Vista see here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821?wa=wsignin1.0

    As that tool checks for servicing corruption
