So I am welcomed to this club.
I Purchased the so called Windows Arc Touch Bluetooth mouse, and it does everything a mouse can do except scrolling up/down. Shame on Microsoft. Disappointed :(

Hi,
I'm using Win 7 (32 bit) with the MS arc Touch mouse software and drivers installed. Running on HP TX2 Touchsmart Tablet.
I'm facing a problem with my mouse with regards to the scroll function.
After "switching on" the mouse, there is a green led light and everything seems to work. The green LED then disappears, presumably to save battery.
However, after a short period of time, the scroll function will not work at all. There is no scroll "feedback" felt from the scroll strip either. But when I flatten the mouse and turn it back on again, everything works as per normal.
But after some time, the same problem resurfaces. Then, I have to turn the mouse off and back on again. Sometimes, the scroll function "turns" itself back on automatically. But most of the time, it just stops working altogether.
This is very irritating. It seems nobody else have encountered this issue.
Please help!!

Phone up Microsoft, I did, they sent me a replacement mouse and yea, once or twice a day the scroll will stop working but a quick flatten / open fixes the issue, I can do that once a day (I think of it as exercise).
If everybody did this MS might actually start searching for a solution to this problem as it's obvious they're not now (but still selling it at an inflated price considering it's a faulty product) - maybe if the issue hits them monetarily it might force them to action.
I personally think the new one will have the same issue and I'm betting on a design flaw.
Hi All,
Unfortunately, the bug has recurred. The Creators Update did not fix it, which reinforces my suspicion that this is a hardware flaw. It's astonishing to think that Microsoft produces a mouse that can't scroll. What next--a keyboard that can't type?
It'll be interesting to see if the reincarnation of the Arc Touch, Surface Edition mouse in the form of the Surface Arc Mouse will actually work:
I still want a refund!

Hi Derek,
I have something very odd to report.
I hadn't used either of my Surface mice for months because of the bug. Finally, one night, since I'd left my Logitech MX Master at work, I pulled out my gray Arc Touch mouse and used it for a while with no scrolling problems. I continued using it extensively for a few days, still with no problems. Puzzled, I then began using my older black Arc Touch mouse, and I didn't have any problems with it, either, after two days.
I wondered if Microsoft had done something in the Creators Update to fix this bug. Then, I saw your post today. Are you running the Creators Update?
What has made this bug--be it hardware or software--so maddening is that not everyone seems to experience it all the time. It's not clear whether electromagnetic radiation might mediate the triggering of the bug, or if it's a software, firmware, or hardware bug, or some complex combination.
Here's another puzzling fact. Perhaps 18 months ago, I remember going for weeks on my black Arc Touch mouse without experiencing the bug. But then it showed up again, exactly as you've described. It was impossible to use it for more than ten minutes without experiencing the bug.
I assume that you're using your mouse on a Surface. Is that right? If so, can you try it on a non-Surface computer?
The Logitech mice are good. I personally prefer the simplicity, foldability, and elegance of Microsoft's design, but what good is it if it doesn't work? The MX Master does, 100% of the time.
For now, I've got my fingers crossed, and will continue to use my two Arc Touch mice until the bug returns. Unfortunately, I expect that it will, so I'm going to enjoy my luck while I can.
Please keep us posted. I'll do the same.
Thanks,
Steve
I have the newer Microsoft Arc Touch Bluetooth mouse (grey) and it has just started having this issue where the scroll stops working randomly after about 5-10 minutes. It's only about 3 months old. Like others have said turning it off and on gets it working again for another 5-10 minutes. Issue occurs on Windows 7 and 10. I am going to get this replaced under warranty and sell it. The fact that this is still occurring over multiple models since 2011 is ridiculous. Going back to Logitech and never getting microsoft mouse again.
