since few days, the notification bell icon (rated/answered comments from media articles, new followers, etc ), smartphone icon and microsoft reward icon in the top-right corner of edge default home page (the one with daily news, weather, etc) all vanished, i have only the parameters icon available.
all notification are checked "on" in microsoft start config page.
and the icons appear without problems in the differents press articles pages, the missing icons problem seems to occur only in the edge new tab default page.
how to get the icons back???

Well i dont understand but. If i use Google Chrome to log into Msn.com i get the darn bell and reward thing a ma bob. On edge i dont ???? Wtfreak is this?
I clicked on the three little dots in the upper right corner of my screen (...) In the drop-down menu I clicked on Settings and in that drop-drown menu I then clicked on Reset settings. Voilà! Now I have the bell notification back plus the awards notification. Also, the butterfly and msn logo are new.
Last night, 11/15/2024, I could see articles to read but everything I clicked on would just not open. Nothing, absolutely nothing and the only way I could read anything in any group not related to MSN was using InPrivate Browsing (VPN) but I could not read or respond to any MSN articles.
After clicking on Reset settings I did have to sign into groups and some other sites. I hope this has solved my dilemma and maybe it will solve anyone else's, too. Below you will see the screenshot of the new, for me at least, butterfly and msn logo with the bell icon.

I see. Have you tried deleting the new tab page data yet? See if deleting the site data could fix the issue. To do this, go to Edge Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data. Search ntp.msn.com then click the bin icon to remove all and check if the issue is fixed.

Have you tried adjusting the zoom level on the new tab page? In my case, when "Show feed" is off, the notification bell icon disappears. When it is on, only the bell icon appears. Adjusting the zoom level to 90% displayed all the icons for me when the 'Show feed' option is enabled. Try using Ctrl + Mouse Scroll Down to determine the zoom percentage that reveals all icons, as this varies with screen resolution.
