My type cover does not work and I left my surface aside the battery drained. I put it in the socket and the type cover worked. What will it be?

I have the same question to Microsoft! Can we soon expect a flawless Windows 10 update revitalizing the Surface pro 3 type cover? The Windows 10 update about one year ago killed our type covers.  How many years do we have to wait?

My wife basically turned on her Surface (SP3) and the cover doesn’t work.  When I attach it to my Surface (SP4), it works fine.  Then I tried to attach my cover to hers, it doesn’t work on hers either.  For some reason, her Surface will not download or will not find the driver(s) to the cover either.  I can plug a basic (from an old pc) keyboard via USB, and it works.  I have not been able to go the MS store for an assist either.  Very frustrating...

    Grant,

Would you be willing to contact me to explain how this went down?

I'm also seeking a replacement. You can find my email on my profile

    I think you have misunderstood.

    I received a replacement SP4 (for a faulty SP3)

I received a full refund of £590 deposit paid for replacement. i.e. zero cost to me.

    It was a happy ending.
