Type Cover not Working but ...

My type cover does not work and I left my surface aside the battery drained. I put it in the socket and the type cover worked. What will it be?

    So it's almost a year that this firmware has been released?! I have problems with the keyboard for about a month, strange. It seems to me a case of programmed obsolescence by microsoft

    There's no public announcement on whether a fix is on the way. However given it's a 3 generation older product, I'm afraid that the probability we see a fix for the problem is very slim.

    Unfortunately, no. There is no working fix released as of now (nearly 1.5 years).

    Is there a version of the firmware that I can install that will make the Type Cover work? Where can I find that version of firmware?

    Thanks for the reply, now I understand the problem better. The firmware update when it was released? I solved the problem of the surface pen, although it was detected and connected via bluetooth it didn't write. Today I changed the battery and now the pen works quietly, surely they were almost empty.Is there a chance that the connector problem will be solved with a new firmware update?
